Its Here!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my G-0500 8x75" Jointer
Something just told me that this would be better picking it up at the shipping dock, rather than trying to unload this off a high 18 wheeler. They loaded this on my pick up with a forklift, and sure thankful I went this route

I thought I could unload this thing myself, but man...... I chickened out when it came for the bed because I didn't want to screw up my back more than what it is already, so I got my neighbor to lend a hand. Man, I'm sure glad I did. I think I could have handled it off the truck, but no way would I have been able to left that bed on its base later.

here's a shot all assembled with the extensions that make it 75". There extensions fit so well that in real time, you don't hardly see them. You see them more now because of the camera flash

Here's another shot and you can see they almost disappear. There's a glare the camera picked up off the polished handwheels. Ha....... wonder if the other brands have polished wheels? ;-)
I cleaned it all up, and made the motor connections and tomorrow I should hook it up to the panel box and run it through the numbers.

here's a close up on the handwheel

Now for flatness....... Just look at how flat in 75"! That slight shadow at this end is really a slight round of the straight edge corner. If it were slightly off, you'd see daylight and you don't. Its right on the money. I got off the phone with Grizzly and they told me that they could only grind a few a day due to the length. The popularity and demand on these jointers got a back log, and Grizzly just put some additional grinders to handle the demand so new orders won't have to wait the 2+ months I did.

How's this for flatness in a fence!

Can't help but get great results with equipment like this in any price range, and why there's no doubt in my mind they have the best jointer on the market today!

The fence has 3 locking positions making 45's a safe operation with the fence slid over to the other end.

A good heavy duty switch, that's easy to get at with any hand.

I was surprised as to the space it took. I thought it would take up more space than what it did, but in reality, not much more than the 6" jointer I replaced. As you can see........ still plenty of room left.
The main reason I went this route was for doing long stock and not having to do a balancing act when you reach the end with a bad back! That 12' x 12" x 16/4" Mahogany I did for those tables were just impossible to do alone. I got around it by cutting them to size, but now I won't have to worry about it anymore.
I know folks tend to think I'm partial on Grizzly, but man....... with equipment like this its no wonder why I just keep buying from them. Low cost doesn't mean low quality at all, and is why Grizzly has grown so much in the past few years!
