We were fortunate enough to find a water front camp to rent till I can build a temporary camp while we build.

It took a while to find this place, but well worth the search. Found 7.5 acres on the backside of the mountain.
Got a decent amount of road frontage that will give the seclusion we want. The acreage is mostly cedar, which is what I wanted for the house, but from what I saw it remains to be seen if it will be enough.

Got a decent blend of other woods like Maple, beech, Norway pine, Hack, fir and spruce with a few birch here and there and a couple of Oaks. I'll do some basic clean up, survey what has to come down and site prep that has to be done before calling in a well company.

While having coffee at the camp this morning, a bald eagle lands to do some early morning fishing. The rocks are about 75' away

The wife pitching in, clearing away some brush

another shot off the front porch of the camp we are staying at. A loon about 100' away

Aug 24. Hit the road early to see if I could get some cutting done today. Leaving early, there's no telling what you might see a long the way. Spotted this fox close to camp as I left

Also spotted this doe that was dazed from being hit by a car. She just sat there and let me take this picture.

got to know down 5 of these Norway pines, along with a few birch. Tomorrow I'll take down some firs. The pine ought to give me close to 1000,00 bd ft for the shop roof. The birch will go into firewood. Also took a few cedar that will go into the logs I'll use for the house and shop. All in all, it was a good day

There's lots of ledge on this lot, so the going is kinda rough. Limbing on uneven ground can be rough on the back I'll tell ya. This tree is yielding 24" on the stump and 2/16' logs along with an 8 footer.
