Got a little more accomplished on the miter station, but things just seem to take longer up here in the winter because there are so many things going on.

This is Jan. 27. Had a small storm that dropped us 4" this morning.

The wife spun the truck out of control on Christmas, coming home from work. The roads hadn't been sanded with the hard freeze Christmas Eve and she travels sideways across the highway, then off the road into a ditch facing the direction she came from. She was fine, but that was the straw that broke the camels back so to speak! There's a new boss here now! Toyota Tacoma! No more American vehicles for me! They just haven't done enough in gas savings as much as the imports have. Time America speaks out, and I followed through as promised in my letter to Ford. Loved my Ford, but just felt they could have done better with engine designs for gas economy over the 30 yrs. I've purchased them. The Toyota gets 24 mpg and the 4x4 will keep the wife safe on her trips back and forth to work.

Got to build some drawers for the outfeed table. This ought to get a few boxes emptied out. I'll also have the same amount of drawers on the otherside.
Worked some on my miter station and have it just about to what I want now. Found some pull out hardware planned for a past kitchen job I hung on to and think I'll make a pull out section in the left opening for hand held power tools like routers, sanders etc. It will be a hole lot better than kneeling down and reaching in all the time

I also needed some kind of lighting in the front of the shop where we park, and where folks drive up. Its totally dark there at night, and carrying a flashlight all the time is getting old. Found this gorgeous motion light at the Depot that gives just enough light for walking, then shuts off till the next time. A just love the color it brings out of the logs with a nice warm glow

The weather warmed up to a balmy 40 degrees so I took advantage, and put my deck up and door. Sure beats climbing a ladder through a window opening all the time. The supports are temporary for now...... next thaw period, I'll put some cedar posts up and a log handrail and ballaster

Been trying to come up with an exterior trim that would work, and stay with the rustic log appearance. Tried all sorts of combinations and finally come up with this. It looks easier than what it is

A Gentleman that buy's eggs from us invited me over to see a sled he mad for his ATV in hauling out logs, so I did. Man, what a slick idea..... looks like I'll be doing one also. He recommended yellow birch, as others have since I showed this around. The only thing different I'll add, is a wider runner for summer use as well. The nice this is that if gets the butt of the log off the ground to prevent digging in. Its rolled up onto the sled with a log cant (P-vey) Once on the sled, it's chained in place

That's my bad boy! ;-)
You can see where the deck stairs come out
