Had to take a tree down today cause it was infested with what I think is the spruce bud worm. This young hemlock was right beside the mill, and my buddy seems to think the sawdust piled around the tree killed the it and made a good home for the worm, so I took it down this morning, before the wind brings it down on my mill.

The tree looked as if it were shot by a machine gun. Look closely at the bark

We peeled the bark back and ........whoaa The tree still can be sawn up into lumber, but I didn't have intentions to even cut this one down at all. Its only about 12" on the butt. Ought to get some 1x10' out of it and I guess the nice part is that there are no branches all the way, so this ought to have some nice clear stuff when milled.

Had some rainy day's, so it was back inside and had Denise start the insulation while I continued putting log slabs on the walls.

The area behind the scaffold without any slabs will be the closet and that will be covered with drywall.

Well?....... we had some excitement yesterday. Seems like all hell broke loose! Sarah, our oldest dairy goat decided to give birth a week early! Well...... the first one to come was a breech. After trying to let nature do it's thing, Denise decided she had enough, and pulled that baby out herself.

Seems like that was the ice breaker, because within minutes, the next one dropped out while denise was drying the first one off.

Now it became a team effort with Denise wiping down the new arrival, while mamma went back to the first, massaging him when "another" baby hit the floor..........Holy Cows! Tripplets!!!! Now it's hurry to get mammas first milk into them quickly for a good healthy start in this screwed up world! So while the other two are nursing off mamma, Denise is bottle feeding from milk I previously milked off Sarah. While Sarah licks amd massages, the baby is getting her first milk.

And here's the whole family...........doin just fine ;-)

the morning after ;-) Looks like everyone is gona do just fine now. Sarah did a fine job over night, keeping everyone nursed.

Boy........getting born is sure tiring
