Got my first load of firewood in, and have to put up. Geeesh......what a time to be laid up with this hand

Thought I was going to have the stitches removed today, but the doc wants to wait another week. At least I have the cast splint off anyhow, and have a tad more mobility but still can't use the hand for any work.

This has got to be one of the funniest pictures of the kids so far. They just love the teeter totter, and Strawberry has learned to balance herself perfectly so all she has to do is move slightly back and they all go up. Once up? she moves slightly and they all fall off, and get right back on again. They did this al of a solid 20 minutes!

I'm into my 3rd week with my hand, and 1st full week without stitches. No more numbness, but still feels swollen somewhat. I can make a fist, but not with any force or strength just yet, but I can hold a light hammer (16oz) and decided to try and get this roof started, before the other hand get's done. I can lay 2-3 bundles a day, carrying 1/2 bundle up at a time, then I back off so ass not to push the hand to much.

This is just to show how slow and tedious trimming around the logs is. Flashing I felt would be just not worth the effort. Weighed it for a long time and the only effective way would have been to cut a long groove with the chainsaw, the whole length of the dormer, 3" deep. Then

I'd either have to make my own step flashing, or one long solid metal flashing that I'd have to bend and I just couldn't see all the effort and end result so?..... I decided to fit the shingle, then go back and use roof caulk a nice 1/4" bead the whole length.

Oooops......have to take time for some goats freshening. Strawberry, our youngest bred goat threw twins, and she didn't want anything to do with them, so we are "stand-in" parents so to speak. We took them inside for better control of the feeding, and on the second day we lost one for some unknown reason. Only 1 from strawberry left. Add all the young we have to date brings them to 4, with only one female. One goat left to freshen.

In between rain drops, I managed to get some progress on the roof. Seems like all I have to do is "think" of doing more on the roof..........we get more rain!

The bedroom outer walls are now complete

A shot of the Bathroom, laundry closet, and can good/coat closet. There will be an access door in the closet for storage in the eave area. Looks kinda mind boggling, but these walls will get dry wall except for the bath outer wall which will be log slabs as well, with chinking

Finally got around to cut some logs I had laying for a year. Needed some clear trim for the inside as well as lumber to build a few cabinets for the shop

Got two logs that I got clear stock from. man, what a sight to see in real time. One board with a few pin knots, that would still grade select, and another where ants were just starting to get in to about 12" from the end.

Had a load of V-Joint 1x6 delivered for the ceiling, and just couldn't wait to get started on it today. I should have been outside chinking with this temporary nice weather........but what the hell! The picture in now way can show what it "really" looks like in real time, but merely gives an idea of what it looks like
