It's tough to get anything done like this

Started sanding the floors.........phew, what a mess! Using an orbital sander rather than rotary. A whole lot easier, but it doesn't have a dust back and that's where the festool vac was incredible.

Here's the first coat in all except the den. I couldn't believe next morning. There must have been 200 flies stuck in the finish. Where the hell they all came from, God only knows. Had to sand for the second coat, but those little wings embedded was a bit tougher. A second and half as many this time.........geez. Sand again and this time, and also like the others, little bubbles kept appearing. Tried different approaches from high quality pure bristle Purdy brushes, to heating the finish as well as lamb wool applicator, roller, I was about fresh out of ideas.

Finally cleaned a 25yr old brush out I had packed, thoroughly washed out the brush cleaner with soap and water, dried, sanded the floor with a square pad finishing sander and 220 grit paper (jeez.....did I just type that?), then applied finish and not quite as many bubbles, but still there grrrrr. Went down in the shop and dragged a foam brush, after apply.........whooooooaaa. Bingo. This is what it looked like at fist light. The reflection makes it still look wet.

oops, what I didn't show earlier was the entry. Note the plugs. I had Denise put in some plugs I made to fill the counter sunk hole and screw. Told her to match the grain. Well........here she didn't match it as well as the others, and these really showed well. The others disappeared and I'm sorry she matched them so well

The sanding and swaying applying the finish just did my knees in, and I'm afraid my double knee replacement is going to come sooner than expected. I can hardly get around anymore let alone carry anything with weight adding to the misery. The injection I got last Thursday wore out today 8 day's later. I have been going 6 weeks in between injections.

I'm going to have a friend move up some furnishings out of the shop so I can lay copper and lay and connect electrical boxes and runs, to the panel with nothing in my way to further mess up my knees. I'll also be able to work on the cabinets, and dumb waiter so when I'm unable to climb the stairs, I'll be able to ride, as well as take in groceries, and firewood. In the meantime, wood has to be taken in the camp, which we heat only with wood. This is about 3 day's worth. The ATV has come in even handier. No bending over, just fill your arms

Went to my buddy's job site to see if he had any logs for me ;-)

ahhhhhhhh there they be... in the trailer, beside is Forwarder. One of his machines. The harvester is deep in, but a pic coming soon. Got an oak, and 2 ash logs on the trailer.

back at the ranch......my mini dozer and I set in the waste pipe to the septic tank. Took advantage of the warm weather and buried it

Didn't get a whole lot done this winter. Too much going on health wise and so I didn't keep up much with the website, so I'll try and update.

The snow fall wasn't as much this year, but what we did get were a few freaky storms that created a few problems, like wet snow and lots of it when it did come.

The first of the year we changed vehicle. Took a heavy loss, but it got to the point I simple could shift anymore with my injured shoulder, nor use a clutch with my knees, that need to be replaced. We ended up getting a RAV 4 Toyota, and a nice trailer. What a dream! Sorry I haven't got a better pic, but maybe later

The winter wasn't a complete waste, as I turned inside the shop to work. Built a counter top for my daughter using aome hardwood I milled over a tears ago.

We didn't get as much total snow fall for the year, but it was colder than usual for a longer period. Took this shot of Denise on one of our rivers during ice out. Note the chunck of ice almost on the pavement

On the brightside..........we got to enjoy deer in the drive again this year

Also spent some time building some tool drawer pull outs. Working in this clutter is just miserable

With springtime, along came firewood for this up comming winter.

............and? what would springtime be without some new kids. Here's Cocoa. Her mother abanded her, so it's in the house and raising by hand. She's quite the charactor I'll tell ya. If your wondering about the ears?.......This is a trate of this breed to have small ears. These are called La Mancha goats.

A better pic of the RAV

We should have done this much sooner. I can haul more in the traialer than I did with a truck, and the Rav is soooo much better on Gas
