Things were going at a snails pace doing this alone. It may sound like its no big deal, but its like building an actual house with plumbing, electric, and interior work. On top of all that had to get a well in, and power poles because I'm in so deep from the road. I decided to stay out at the camp, and get more done going from sun up to sun down, while the wife stayed at the lake till the place was ready.
The temp. was falling pretty quick, and had to hustle when I got back. The poles started going in, but had to wait till another outfit drilled through ledge on the last one.
This was right after the well was done, and that last pole is just to the left. I put in gas appliances and could run the well pump from the generator and presto........ running water for showers and camode ;-)
I got some v-joint knotty pine #4 grade, which is pretty poor, but good enough for a camp. A few cuts here and there and results were pretty decent. Once I had a few walls covered, it was time to build a few cabinets. Welcome to my cabinet shop ha ha ha ha Using Festools saw guide, sander, and router..... I never thought I could get this kind of precision. Rabbets, dadoes, to laminations man..... couldn't have dreamt this was possible without a table saw and jointer. Bought 4 clamps, and while drying inside I'd gut up more stock. With the guide, I could cut both edges off the V-joint, and glue them up. The cuts were just as precise as if it came off the jointer. Using graduated grits with the sander, I could bring it all down as if it came off the planer once it was dry. I put everything together with pocket screws (not my favorite thing), but in a pinch, I guess I had no choice. I built some top cabinets, and a message center for the computer.

Look at the joints this system put out!

Not the greatest conditions to work under, but things moved right along. The smartest move I ever made was this generator.

Here I routed the cabinet backs for some 1/4" luan backing. Just squared the corners with a chisel, and attached the backs.
This is what the cabin looks like so far.

space is at a premium, so every little do-dad counts. Here's a pair of book ends to go on the message center I did.

Message center

here's a shot of the exterior. Looks small but its really comfortable for two people. I added a tool shed to store the most used tools but its just the basics...........trust me

This is the view from the back porch looking down at one part of my drive. You can see the water line trench I filled in my hand. 100' long, and over 36yds. One wheel barrel at time. (GRRRRRRR)
look out.........there's a new boss in the house. Meet the baby. She'll be ready Dec 9th. This ought to be interesting. Our Persian is kinda finicky and temperamental. Took a while to get use to the other dog, but the dog could hold her ground. I may have to put the cat out one night and introduce her to the visiting skunk!

wouldn't you know it?....... there's isn't a GA. Peach no where
;-)
Jist as snug as a bug in a rug
