Just when things seem to be rolling, along comes more snow!
If these guy's get any closer, I'll have to invite them in. The well (silver wrapped box) is only 60' from the camp.

One thing About Maine is the weather. One day its storming, and the other just bright sunshine and some melting. Had to bust these logs apart with a splitting maul from the pile so I could bring them on over to the saw. Man, talk about a workout so early in the morning.

After about 12hrs, I've got a pretty good pile started
Mostly Pine boarding for the roof, a few 2x's, and some 2" cedar I'll most likely use on raised panel interior doors when I'm ready. I try and cut at least one log up a day as a minimum, but so far its been more like 2.
Finally got to some cedar logs I had in the pile and dug hem out to get a prototype to see if I want to go with a 7" finished log for the walls. The kits have a 5 1/2" and I'm trying to stay away from a kit look, but man..... Its allot of work. Tomorrow I've GOT to cut up some of the firewood I had in the pile. Its all in the way now, and stopping me from getting at the other stuff

Man...... I busted butt this morning trying to break loose some logs to saw up. This pile is just about gone and the real challenge will be getting the large Oak out to the ramp.

Finally broke some loose, but had to cut up some tree length firewood first that was intertwined among the others, preventing a clean yank with the truck.

the real challenge will be trying to yank this large Oak when I'm ready. No doubt I'll have to wait for a good thaw

Yep...... lookin better each day, but I'll be glad when the snow is gone so I can make better time

I guess its that time of day again ;-)

This is th bigest pine yet. It was the last and frozen to the ground. Some decent weather the last couple of days, I was able to pry it and get it to the ramp. Being only 8' long and full of ice it fell off the ramp 3 times. Man, I thought I'd never get it up there! One more big one in this pile, and its a Red Oak. Ought to be fun ;-(
