Time for making the table top frame. I really never cared for my PC that much due to the dust extraction, but since I got the Fetool, man this thing is so nice to use now

Once cut, I biscuit the joints using a urethane glue. I often use the yellow wood glue's, but felt this glue would be stronger for this application. I tried the Merle clamp for the first time, as I usually use the Pony band. The merle has some adjustable corner brackets, and felt it might be better in alignment of the profile when clamping. The only problem was that the metal band tends to lift in tightening due to the edge profile and additional clamps had to be used to keep it flat.

A little sanding

and back to turning some bench legs

They will also have a web like the table.

Now the bottom sizing. This Festool sure makes this a piece of cake! The beauty of this system is that you don't have to measure over for the straight edge. The saw rides on the guide, so you just lay the guide exactly where you marked and its a perfect cut, just as if it came off the table saw.

Especially nice for cuts like this

Now for the fitting. Mahogany is nice to work with, but nevertheless..... sharp chisels in deep pockets like this are a must. I like to use a hard felt wheel with a green compound for the best razor sharp edge

I like the marples blue handle chisels for something like this. They don't hold an edge as long, but can hone to razor sharp and have a nice long blade that is nice for deep work like this

this seat is 2 3/4 deep, and 22.5 degree angle, so it has to be pretty close and generally going this deep, the sides tend to flare. Using a scraper you can see the shadows and for an super tight fit, just rub the scraper up and down applying pressure and it will smooth the high spots to be shaved

Ahhhhhhhh....... after a few pains taking hours, finally a good seat.

Now the frame.

now to take this all apart "once again".... and glue it up. Man, this is going to be a nightmare gluing all in one shot before glue setting up.

Now for the bench
