Hung the doors in the right unit today, to see how it would look. Looks like I'll run an edge profile on the doors to reveal that table edge better. The plain edge on the door just doesn't fit well in appearance but I wanted to be sure before I did it, and now I am. I think also it will bring out the raised panel drawer front as well.

the edge design and the return gave it a nice touch. Not to much in the opening to interfere with the flow but when the doors went on, it buries the edge profile from view. Its one of those things that happens sometimes that is hard to visualize until the final stages. By using the same profile on the doors, it should open up the area of the table edge without looking like an after thought

an easy way to install doors, is to mount the hinge and bracket assembled on the door, then screw the door in place. These doors will sit on top of the face frame, but will be off of the table top about 1/8". I use 2 pieces of laminate for a spacer to rest the door on, then screw the door on, and adjust.

Drawers are sanded and ready for finishing.

the doors look much better with an edge profile, and exposes the shelf edge much better. Now that this phase is done, I've got at least a solid day of sanding before spraying.

Just about through with the spraying, and only the shelves remain.

I lay down at least 5 coats. # sealer, and two top coats. I really love using a hose set up rather than a cup. Especially in tight quarters like this. Spraying on its side on these long panels goes much faster, and I don't have to worry about dripping or turning the spray hood for fan angle

time for a signature

The hardware on, drawers put in, now its time for the shelving. I love the hammered old looking hardware she selected. It really compliments this unit well.

Just delivered this unit. Now you'll see why its in so many sections. At the top, there's an abrupt turn to the left and down the same narrow width hallway, then another turn into a bedroom.

This is a shot from the top

this next shot is about the widest view I can get of the wall the unit will go up against

A whole grueling day, and its finally installed.

In another room, I'm doing a 12' bookcase in 3 sections. Thank God its not going up to another level but if this keeps up........ an addition to my shop will be a must!

The most tedious part of this job are the shelves. I glue up a 3/4 x 3/4" oak edging strip to each shelf edge. There are 21 shelves all togetehr, then they all have to be sanded and sized. You think you have tons of clamps till you run into a project like this one ;-)
